IRON CASTING

Students of the Metalworking and Jewellery studio of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art regularly explore the boundaries of materials and techniques, not only to perfect their craftsmanship but also to develop creative thinking and a conceptual approach to art. This spring, along with their colleagues from the Sculpture and Space studio, they participated in the Iron Casting symposium in Ústí nad Labem, which followed their participation in last year’s international Iron Casting workshop in Banská Bystrica. The exhibition IRON CASTING presents the work of students from Sutnarka and their colleagues from the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, the Natural Materials studio at the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Tomas Bata University in Zlín, the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and others. The exhibition will conclude on October 7 at 5:00 PM with a guided tour led by our faculty members and their colleagues from the Natural Materials studio at the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
