about the specialization

The study of this field is based on complex art training, an individual approach to each student and continuous improvement of theoretical and practical artistic and craftsmanship skills. Teaching the specialization Shoe and Fashion Accessories Design is designed primarily to help students develop artistic talent and direct them to designer creativity in the context of the evolution of clothing. Students′ creativity is developed through free toying and experimenting with materials and technologies, so that students become comprehensively prepared for a designer's career. Design of shoes, accessories, various handbags and bags is taught both with the aim of creating one-of-a-kind models and gaining experience and developing skills to work with industrial production. Emphasis is placed on invention as well as craftsmanship. Students regularly exhibit their works; thus they are also creating photographic documentation − fashion photography, installation of exhibitions and implementation of fashion shows.

Graduates of this specialization are able to work as independent designers of shoes and other accessories in industrial production. They can handle and develop fashion trends, illustrate them with fashion drawings, but also develop their own designs through computer technology. They have an overview of materials and footwear construction, and are able to produce a prototype by themselves. They have experience in industrial production and are ready to work in a team in a large industrial company as designers of one-of-a-kind models and other objects.

The best semester works, semester projects and Bachelor’s theses can be regularly exhibited in two UWB galleries in Pilsen under the FUD management, and also in exhibition spaces outside the city of Pilsen. The students, with their best works, participate in design competitions in our country and abroad. Students may complete the study and internships abroad; an obvious part of the study is the involvement of students, under the expert guidance of teachers, in many art projects and art events; students can attend various workshops and plein air courses at the UWB training center at Nečtiny Castle or abroad.

Graduates can enter directly into practice as employees of an institution or as independent artists in their field. They can complete the Master's Degree Study Program with educational focus and then teach at schools of all grades and at extra-curricular facilities of various types. The most talented graduates can meet the conditions for admission and continue their studies in a FUD follow-up Master's Degree Study Program, at another UWB faculty, at another university in the Czech Republic or even abroad.

entrance examinations for the above specializations
