"Czech Heroines" is an artistic and literary project that prioritizes the influence of women on Czech history. It comes symbolically 100 years after feminist teacher, activist and head of the Czech emancipation movement, Františka Plamínková managed to ensure that the leading-edge principles of gender equality were put into practice as they had been introduced in Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk's 1918 Constitution. Princesses, patrons of the arts, authors, aviators, members of the resistance against the Nazi and the Communist occupiers, surrealist painters, protest singers, car racers, journalists, Hollywood actresses, humanitarian workers, opera stars, fashion designers, golden medal winning sportswomen; visitors draw inspiration from the strong characters and achievements of 50 important agents of change "for the realization of their own dreams and life goals", adds Fučíková.
Their portraits are illustrated by students of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art. Together with the book, Renáta Fučíková realized an ambitious project that travels to Czech Centers around the world, and has included in its itinerary a stop in Gallery Ladislav Sutnar in Pilsen.
