13th international summer school of art.

The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia introduces the 13th annual international summer school of art – ArtCamp 2017. The summer school gives both Czech and international particpants the opportunity to spend up to three weeks in a creative and inspiring environment while discovering and developing their talent and enjoying Pilsen, the European Capital of Culture 2015. The participants can choose from a wide variety of one-week courses focused both on traditional and modern art techniques. Many courses are offered in English or in combination of Czech and English in case of mixed groups of participants.

ArtCamp 2017 will take place 10 - 28 July, the deadline for registrations is 30 May 2017.

Just like every year ArtCamp features new attractive courses, interesting visiting artists and an attractive afternoon and evening program. Our visitng artists will come from Japan, Canada, Great Britain, Iran, Poland and Slovakia.

The wide variety of 36 courses includes bookbinding, drawing, painting, figure drawing, fashion design, art therapy, video making, light design, comics, graphic design, jewellery design, lithography, digital photography, architecture, new media, illustration and much more.

The news of this year include courses of choral singing and music composition offered in cooperation with the Department of Music Culture of the Faculty of Education and also a course of the increasingly popular new circus taught by professionals from the Zongleros Ansambl Pilsen. The fans of fashion design will have a chance to design their own fashion accessories in another new course which will teach them how to work with the latest fashion trends. A film artist Christopher Rosewarne will come from Great Britain to share his experience in the field of science fiction design for film industry. There will also be two special illustration courses - the first one with Japanese artist Hiroko Matsushita will focus on working with paper to create 3D illustrations, the second one with Iranian artist Ali Boozari will offer insight into the history in Iranian illustration and the participants will work on their illustrations using various graphic techniques.
